How to embed YouTube videos in WordPress–Classic Editor and Gutenberg

Do you want to know how to make your website look more vivid? Then adding videos may be a good idea. You can use any video you find on YouTube at will, or upload your own video as needed.

There are several different ways to add YouTube videos to WordPress-either in the classic editor or in Gutenberg-and this time, we decided to show them.

Embedding YouTube video in classic editor

Here are the steps of the easiest way to embed videos from YouTube:

First, log in to your WordPress. Then, go to the page/post where you want to add the video, and find the location where you want to add the video in its content.
Go to YouTube, find the video you want to add, and then use the full URL in your browser’s address bar:

Another way to copy a URL is to select the “Share” option below. Then, just click the “Copy” button and the URL of the video will be copied successfully.

It is important to note that there is a great option for you to set the video to start at a specific point. Just check the start time box and add the time you want the video to start.

Now, go back to your page/post, just paste the URL address (blank paragraphs are a good place to do this) and the video preview will appear. Like this:

< ol start="4">

Now, all that remains is to click the “Update” button, and your video will eventually appear on your page or post.
If you need more advanced options, such as changing the display size of the video, this is another way to add it:

Select the Share button. This will bring up the Embedding option.

Copy HTML code:

Paste here (make sure to use text editing mode):

Click the “Update” button! You can now edit the width and height of the video. You can find it in the copied HTML code.
Embedding YouTube videos in Gutenberg

The Gutenberg editor has an embedded block that allows you to insert content from other sources, including videos. You can also find specific YouTube video blocks in the Gutenberg blacklist.

You should know that YouTube block only allows you to insert the URL of the video.
